The EU encourages all civil society organisations to participate to the new Call for Proposals launched by the AU-EU Youth Cooperation Hub. Building on the work of the AU-EU Youth Plug-In Initiative, the objective of the call is to foster cooperation between Africa and EU civil society by working for the inclusion and empowerment of young people in Africa.
The deadline for submitting concept notes is June 21, 2019 at 17h (Brussels time). An online information session will be held on Friday May 3, 2019 during which civil society organisations can ask questions. For more information, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org.
The AU-EU Youth Cooperation Hub
The AU-EU Youth Cooperation Hub is a multi-stakeholder platform seeking to test new approaches to common challenges facing the two continents. Led by 42 young experts, it follows the Abidjan Youth Summit and the AU-EU Youth Plug-In Initiative, which actively involved youth in proposing new ideas for the Africa-EU Partnership.
The call for proposals contributes to implementing the priorities identified at the 5th AU-EU Summit and Abidjan Declaration: "Investing in Youth for Accelerated Inclusive Growth and Sustainable Development". In this context, the hub covers 7 thematic clusters. In the areas of peace, security and governance, activities will be linked to the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Peace, Security and Governance. Concerning the clusters on education and skills, as well as business, job creation and entrepreneurship, activities are responding to the priorities specified in the Africa-Europe Alliance for Sustainable Investment and Jobs.
