The AUSP III will focus on joint EU-AU priorities including the operationalisation of the African Governance Architecture (AGA), the mainstreaming of human development in the areas of Science Technology and Innovation, the boosting of sustainable and inclusive development and growth and continental integration inter alia through AU flagship initiatives such as Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA), Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP) and the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA).

The funding of the Programme amounts to €51 Million (85% European Union and 15% African Union Commission) covering the period from July 2016 to June 2019.
