African Women network soon to host a Panafrican 3-day interactive dialogue to advance Gender Equality and Women Empowerment within the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The convening of the African Women's Development and Communication Network (FEMNET) will take place in Nairobi, Kenya, between 3 and 5 May 2017.
The event seeks to enhance and facilitate the engagement of women right's organizations and other related stakeholders in the follow-up, review and implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. It aims to advance the gender equality and women’s empowerment agenda and link it with other relevant frameworks, notably Africa's Agenda 2063. It will also look at best practices and exchanges of information between participants drawn from the five African regions as well as a few African women from diaspora and participants from women's organisations in Europe.
This event is supported by the EU and will gather over one hundred participants from Africa and Europe.
