The 6th EU-Africa Business Forum (EABF) will take place on 27 November 2017 in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, at the margins of the 5th AU-EU Summit of Heads of State and Government.
The Forum will be the business window of the Summit and will convey practical views and proposals to the political leaders. It will bring together African and European economic operators representing multi-nationals, large corporations, small and medium-scale enterprises and confederations, start-ups, private and public financiers, and multilateral and regional institutions, to discuss practical opportunities to work together and to improve the business and investment climate.
The Forum in Abidjan concludes a series of business-related events held in Africa and Europe in the course of 2017, which pointed at the importance of investment, job creation and public-private dialogue for achieving sustainable and inclusive growth in Africa.
The 6th EABF will promote investment with development impact in Africa. With its overarching theme "Investing in Job Creation for Youth", the Forum will look at the challenges and opportunities for investment in Africa along strategic priorities, such as renewable energy, agriculture and the digital economy. The Forum will aim to provide solutions, particularly for the growing number of young and women entrepreneurs. The EABF will also offer space for "investment pitches" and B2B meetings.
