Please click here for the June 2017 newsletter with many updates on the work of the Africa-EU Energy Partnership (AEEP).
Launched in 2007 at the Lisbon Summit, the Africa-EU Energy Partnership is one of the pillars of the Joint Africa-EU Strategy. Under this partnership, the two continents share their knowhow and resources, tune their complementary interests and closely link their policies to meet the energy challenge hand in hand.
The African Union Commission, the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) Secretariat, Egypt, the European Commission, Germany and Italy are the Steering Group members providing political guidance to the Partnership. AEEP Secretariat is hosted by the Partnership Dialogue Facility (EUEI PDF) which is an instrument of the EU Energy Initiative (EUEI).
