How the event went:
The European Commission and the German foundation Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung organise a High Level Seminar on good governance as an enabler for economic growth, in Cadenabbia, Italy. The results of the seminar shall feed into the Africa-EU Summit. Its theme should be linked to the main topics of the Summit which is economic growth, investment and job creation. This seminar will be an opportunity to brainstorm on what both the public administration and the private sector can do to enable the latter to become the driver of development. The JAES 2nd partnership Democratic Governance & Human Rights is a primordial axe of the Africa-EU Strategy and the seminar should enhance dialogue between all stakeholders.
The seminar will address the linkages between governance and economic growth with strong emphasis on issues of economic governance. It should result in a discussion paper that could feed the round table discussion between the Heads of States/governments and private sector representatives that is envisaged during the Summit.
30 European and African representatives of the private sector, academia and policy makers.
