Members from both institutions participated at a plenary session, at a number of thematic cluster meetings, and at bilateral meetings to discuss a broad range of issues within the framework of the EU/Africa Strategic Partnership. The discussions focussed on two key issues: democracy and growth.

This high level meeting also provided opportunities to discuss and define common approaches to international events, including the situation in North Africa, as well as to define the road to the 17th Climate Change conference in Durban, G20 meeting in Cannes and the global governance agenda.
